Romans 4:13‭-‬14 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

By the virtue of your new birth you have been made the heir of the world. What a life! Why should we lack anything if the world is ours? We ought to take possession of what has already been given to us in Christ.

In Christ Jesus, the world belongs to you. God made a promise to Abraham and to his seed to be the heirs of the world. And it was given to him through the righteousness of faith. It wasn’t according to the law.

How could it be? Abraham lived about 430 years before the law was given. God gave that promise to Abraham on the basis of grace. Thus we can only take dominion as heirs of the world by grace through faith. We are not heirs of the world because of any good that we did. It is purely based on the righteousness of faith. If we try to walk as heirs of the world by law keeping and human works, we will forfeit the grace that has been given to us freely in Christ Jesus.

The word “heir” in the Greek is “kleronomos” which means inheritor, possessor or a sharer. It speaks of one who a portion of something have been allotted to. In Christ Jesus, you are an heir of God. You have been called to inherit God’s possessions.

1 Peter 3:9 says, “Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.” This is beautiful! You have been called to inherit a blessing! You see that you cannot be cursed. Your portion is to inherit a blessing. Hallelujah! What a calling we have in Christ Jesus. We are to bless others because we have been called to inherit a blessing.

All these that I have given to you is the legal side of redemption. Now you have to get into the vital side of redemption, where these things become a living reality in your life. One of the frustrating things as a believer in Christ is to become aware of the realities in Christ and not walking in them vitally. For this reason, you have to learn the principles of scriptures to help you walk in these blessings of redemption.
