When we put the word of God to work, we activate the inherent power in the word. The power in the word remains potential until we activate it and as long as the power in the word is potential, we get nothing. Potential power does not bring about a change. What brings about motion and change is kinetic power or activated power.

God wants to use you for His glory. I remember years ago, all our desire was that God would use us mightily. We read about the mighty moves of God and revivals in the days of Smith Wigglesworth, Jack Coe, A. A. Allen, William Braham, Kathryn Kuhlman and the rest. Their stories moved us to nights of prayers and fastings.

THE VIRGIN BIRTH OF CHRIST

Mathew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us

Jesus was born by a virgin. This is what most people including religious people cannot receive. The virgin birth of Christ is one of the foundational doctrines of the church that we don’t need to compromise on it nor be apologetic about it.

Certain translations of the Bible uses the word “a young maid” instead of “virgin”. When you see such Bibles tear them apart and burn them to ashes. What they are trying to do is to demean the virgin birth of Christ. Jesus was born by a young woman who has never had any intercourse with any man.

LET GOD ARISE IN YOU!

CHANGING THE FOCUS

Hebrews 8:10‭, ‬12 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

The Old Testament focus was on self and the works of man. Your blessing was based on your good works and obedience to God’s commandments. If you take a careful look at the Ten Commandments, you will realize that it is all about “Thou shall not”. It is about what you do and not what God has done. Thus the focus was always man.

I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES

It is dangerous to be in a church where they don’t believe in miracles. What happens if the only way out of your predicament is a miracle?

I remember one time after service, I noticed that a brother was not looking good, he was really sick, he could barely take some few steps. Upon this I enquired whether he wants to be taken to the hospital or to be prayed for – you have to be sure of what people believe. He said, I should pray for him. I laid hands on him and commanded him to be well. In a matter of minutes, this brother was up on his feet and walked home healthy – returned to church the next Sunday healthy and strong.

I understand that we live in a busy time like never before that it seems that even the 24 hours that God has given to us is not even enough. Our schedules are becoming tighter like never before. From busy work schedules to family commitments, the demands just keep increasing. You can even lose your prayer life as a minister of the gospel with busy schedules. So, this has nothing to do with just the laity of the church. It applies to everyone in the church.
