BE OBSESSED WITH JESUS

Mark 4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

The more I read and study about Jesus in the gospels, about His life and ministry, the more I get obsessed with Him. His life greatly inspires me to higher heights. Sometimes I just stand in awe of this wonderful Son of God in truth and power.

His prayer life is one worth studying. Jesus will rise early in the morning before the day breaks and goes to pray in a solitary place. Mark 1:35 says, “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.” Thus by the time the day came, He was ready to face the day, and casted out devils and healed the sick with ease.

The way He called His apostles is incredible. Mark 1:17‭-‬18‭, ‬20 says, “And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him. And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.” How could these grown up men leave their worthwhile occupation and follow a total stranger? What came upon them? Mathew even left his lucrative tax collecting job and followed Jesus. ‬‬

There was something different about Jesus. His presence sent all kinds of signals down the spine of these people. The way Jesus casted out devils was simply amazing. He chased out 6000 devils with one word: go. Wow! One time while preaching at the synagogue, one possessed with a devil began to cry out without Jesus saying a word. His presence intimidated the devil.

His love and compassion knows no bound. Little children could even cling unto Him; He carried them in His arms. When He saw the multitude He had compassion on them and healed their sick and fed them. When Peter denied Him, He still loved him; and restored Peter, and he became one of the leading apostles in his day.

Jesus went to where the people were. He visited them in their homes; He visited them at work; He visited them at the synagogues, while ministering life to them.

At the end of the day, Jesus laid down His life for us that He might bring us to God. Then on the third day, He rose from the dead triumphantly. Today, He is seated on the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us. This Jesus that I preach to you, is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Hallelujah!
