PREPARING FOR THE YEAR THROUGH MEDITATION

Genesis 24:63 And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming. KJV
One commentator said, what Isaac did was what the men old practiced. It is no surprise that they had the results they commanded. I believe it was one of those sessions of meditation that Isaac was commanded by God not to go down to Egypt, but to dwell in Gerar. And when he did, God blessed him abundantly.
Make some time to think through for this year. Be still before the Lord. Take out time to meditate on the Prophetic word for the year that has come to you.
What worked for you last year? What did not work for you? Why couldn’t you reach your goals last year? Did you experience the Prophetic word for last year in your life?
During meditation, ask questions and seek solutions from the Holy Spirit. Probe areas of your life. Which area of your life require strengthening? What new thing can you add to your life this year? Which area of your character requires change?
What about spiritual growth? How far have you grown? How far do you want to grow this year? Prayer? Bible Reading and study? Church attendance? Personal evangelism? Giving? Your relationship with the Holy Ghost? How often do you hear His voice and directions?
If you don’t take the time to think and meditate, you may not experience any significant change in your life this year – you will end up doing ordinary things. Those who do the extraordinary are men who take out time to think intentionally. Separate yourself from the busy schedules and spend some time to think. After all, many of the busy schedules has not produced any serious results.
As you lay still before the Lord, you can begin by speaking in tongues to activate your spiritual senses. Get your notepads and pen by your side and pen down whatever the Spirit imparts to you. Then take actionable steps on whatever you receive from the Lord through meditation.
