LEARNING BY THE WORD

Psalms 119:98 Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.

There are different ways to learn kingdom lessons. And I believe the best way to learn God’s lessons is via His Word. It is wisdom to learn by the word.

It is dangerous not to learn wisdom by God’s word. You don’t have to experience the pain that living a dishonest life brings before you learn to avoid such path in life. If you refuse to allow the word to guide and teach you, circumstances and situations of life will teach you – it is called “the school of hard knocks”. I will not advise anyone to learn through hard knocks.

In the book of Jonah, we are told God commanded the prophet Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh to preach repentance to them. Due to Jonah’s own prejudice, he decided to disobey God’s divine order; thus he took his journey to go to Tarshish.

In the course of their voyage, God sent a strong wind and storm against the ship Jonah boarded. Later on, Jonah winded up in the belly of a whale for three days and three nights. There in the “University of Whale”, Jonah learnt his lessons the hard way.

Jonah could have avoided all of this tragedy by simply going by the word of God. People who are hard hearted will end up with many painful experiences and lessons. Choose to learn by the word. Getting to know the word, and doing it will save you years of heartaches.
