THE REASON WE PREACH THE GOSPEL OF GRACE

Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

There are several reasons why we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, the main reason being for folks to be persuaded that Jesus is the only way to salvation, and confess Him as Lord of their lives in order to receive eternal life.

But today, I want to share one vital reason why we preach and teach the gospel of Christ: erasing debt from the conscience of men, that they may serve God effectively according to our opening scripture.

Let me explain: If you owe someone an amount of money of about $10, 000.00. Then a friend of yours heard about your predicament and decided to pay your debt. It happened that your friend even paid $1, 000, 000, 000.00 which is an overpayment.

Now if you are not told that your debt have been paid for, you will still have a debt on your conscience, and will always be afraid of your creditor anytime you see him even though the debt has been paid. This is not because your debt have not been paid, but simply because you do not know the truth that your debt has been paid.

In this instance, you will need a messenger from this generous friend of yours to tell you explicitly that your debt have been fully paid for. This is why we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I am here as a messenger from Jesus to tell you today that your debt against God has been overpaid by Jesus on the cross. Thus banish every thought of fear of punishment, insecurity, guilt and condemnation from your heart. You are no longer a debtor to Almighty God anymore. Remove every debt from your conscience. This then becomes the end result of preaching the full gospel of Grace: Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God (1 John 3:21).
