CRITICS DON'T DESERVE YOUR ATTENTION
CRITICS DON'T DESERVE YOUR ATTENTION

Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Critics are losers; I have never seen a critic who is a winner or has been celebrated all over the world. Someone once said, no monument has ever been raised in the honour of a critic. It has never happened. Hence paying attention to critics is the losers battle; it is simply a waste of time that sucks all your energy and creativity. Critics are attention seekers; they are hungry for recognition. Ignore them.
One time some fellow criticised Mike Murdock. And for one hour Mike Murdock was trying to find words to answer this particular critic. Finally, he came to himself and said, even my mother who inspired me to learn how to play the piano, I have never spent that amount of time trying to write her a love letter. You see what I mean? Again, don’t pay attention to critics.
Our world is filled with critics; on radio, television, and internet, you see these self-acclaimed social critics. Show me any successful, rich and prosperous critic in the world. There is none. All critics are broke and losers. They spend their time trying to find fault with successful people. This implies that, without successful people, these losers don’t have a career. Their whole lives are centered around other people’s success, finding ways to demean them.
Jesus had his fair share of the whiplash of critics. The religious folks of His day criticised everything He did. Nothing he did was acceptable in their sight. As far as they were concerned, Jesus was wrong and they were right. There were occasions where they sent people to tempt Jesus in order for them to catch Him in His words. Unfortunately for them, Jesus became more popular while they became less popular till they exclaimed, the whole world is gone after this Jesus.
In our day it is no different. Ministers of the gospel have had their fair share of criticisms. And how these critics skillfully fabricate these lies is amazing. The presence of a critic in a man’s life is an indication that the man is successful. Critics don’t spend time on losers. Hence if you are criticised by men, scripture says, rejoice. It is a sign that you are making progress. If you are not being criticised, it is an indication that you are not really making the headlines.
Scripture says, all that will live godly (living by the power of God) will suffer persecution. Persecution is part of the gospel. We cannot run away from it. Don’t hate your critics; love them and pray for them. In so doing you free yourself from the yoke of bitterness and unforgiveness. One sure way to kill criticism is silence. Critics don’t deserve your attention. Don’t give it to them.
