Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
When Jesus cursed the fig tree according to Mark 11, the fig tree still remained the same with its fresh leaves. On the outward, it looked like nothing has happened. But it was just a matter of time; by the time it was morning when Jesus and His disciples were passing by that same fig tree, they saw the fig tree dried from the roots.
What happened in between when Jesus cursed the fig tree and the next morning? The truth is that, the moment Jesus cursed the fig tree, it died immediately from the roots. It was just a matter of time for it to show in the stems and leaves. When Jesus cursed the fig tree, He knew the tree was dead.
Mathew’s account tells us that the fig tree died immediately when Jesus cursed it. Both Mark and Mathew were right in their reportage of the same incident. When Jesus cursed the fig tree, it died immediately; it was just a matter of time for it to show up in the stem and leaves.
This principle of faith in this story is vital for our faith walk. Sometimes after we have made strong faith declarations and do not see immediate results, we tend to be discouraged. Do not be discouraged. What is happening is that, your faith is being tried. Know that the root of the problem is cursed; it is just waiting till morning for the outward manifestation.
The truth is that the moment you speak in faith, something happens immediately. But at times you may not see immediate results in the natural; at other times you will see immediate results.
Don’t be moved by natural evidence. We walk by faith and not by sight. Stay in faith and keep confessing the word and thanking God for the miracle. If you will hold on till morning in faith, you will see the problem dried up from its roots.
