Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
God’s forgiveness is not only received at new birth. Forgiveness is not what we receive only one time. Of course we have been forgiven once and for all time. But we must receive it on a continuous basis. You have to live daily, knowing that you have been forgiven of all sins and lawlessness; you have to believe you have been forgiven; this is how to receive God’s forgiveness.
God does not hold your sins against you anymore; He has judicially forgiven you all sins for all time. This is what you must believe. For many believers in Christ, it is when they confessed their sins that God forgave them. No Sir! That’s not scriptural. Your forgiveness was granted long before you ever sinned.
When Jesus died and shed His precious blood for us, all your sins were forgiven. Your forgiveness is not based on your confession of sins – that’s Old Testament; and God found fault with that covenant. Your forgiveness of sins is completely based on the finished work of Christ at the cross.
If the forgiveness of your sins is based on you confessing it, what about the ones you have forgotten? My dear friend, you have a clean slate before God Almighty. God is not the one looking out for your sins to punish you and burn you in hell; that’s religion.
The more you believe that you are forgiven of all sins (past, present, and future) the more God’s peace floods your soul and heart and mind. It will remove the guilt and condemnation forever. It is those who receive God’s abundant grace that will reign in this life. Always believe and confess that you are forgiven. Remind the devil that you have been forgiven.
Never allow satan to remind you of your sins and condemn you. What God wants you to do when you sin, is to acknowledge your wrong, repent (change your mind), receive His forgiveness and move on with your life. Never stay in a guilty conscious mood. Live everyday believing you have been forgiven of all sins. This is what pleases the heart of the Father. It shows you appreciate what His beloved Son did for you.
