You don’t have to be a Christian to live right. That just hair lip some folks. But that is simple truth. There are non-Christians who are more morally upright than some Christians. So, that tells you that you don’t need to be a Christian to do what is right.

Doing right is simply deciding to do what is right and sticking to it; no devil in hell can force you to commit sin. Men decide to do what is evil by themselves. Thus you can also decide to do what is morally right.

The question now is, will that unbeliever who is even considered to be more morally upright than a Christian make it to heaven? The answer is no and every Christian agrees to that. This goes on to show that no one can be saved by his good works.

Why do some preachers preach that if you have some sin in your life, you will miss heaven? That’s a bundle of contradiction. And this confuses the body of Christ. We tell the sinner that he cannot be saved by his good works. When he believes in Jesus and comes into the kingdom, we say that if you don’t straighten out, God will burn you in hell; that’s a confused and twisted gospel.

What every man need is the righteousness that God gives to men on the basis of their faith in Jesus. This is the righteousness of faith that Paul preached. And this righteousness is a free gift from God that must be received by faith. No amount of your good works can make you righteous before God. It is the righteousness of faith that is acceptable before God. And when you receive this gift of righteousness, you will reign in life over the powers of darkness (Romans 5:17).
