YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES

I have heard even notable preachers say that the Pauline epistles are difficult to understand. I don’t doubt that. Even apostle Peter acknowledged that Paul’s writing were difficult to understand (2 Peter 3:15-16). But I don’t want you to walk with that mentality that the scriptures are too difficult to understand.

Some scriptures may seem difficult to understand but they are still understandable. Don’t block your mind that the scriptures are too difficult to understand. Open your heart and mind to understand the word.

The scripture is God’s love letter to us. And God will not write us a letter that we cannot understand. That will be unfair. It does not matter how the word may seem difficult for us to understand, it is still understandable. If you will seek the Lord in prayer concerning any seemingly difficult scripture, He will open your understanding to know His word.

Sometimes it is just a matter of growth and not the difficult nature of the scriptures. Some scriptures becomes clearer as you grow in the things of God. If you don’t grow, there are just certain scriptures in the word that you cannot fully grasp and appreciate their meaning.

Sometimes you have to get the right study materials like Bible concordance, other versions of the Bible etc. Getting the tapes and books of anointed men of God can greatly enhance your understanding of the scriptures; they can break down very difficult scriptures into bite sizes for you to easily assimilate them.

Open your heart and seek the Lord in prayer. Open your heart to the ministry of the Holy Spirit and He will guide you into all truth.
