1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
Pray fervently. James 5:16 says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Praying fervently is the sure way to get results in prayer. Prayer is most effective when it is prayed fervently. Fervent means heartfelt, earnest, continued, emotions and feelings involved etc. If your prayer is not involved with your emotions and heart, you are just doodling and dawdling.
I don’t believe in diplomatic prayers. Some Christians are diplomatic Christians. They just stand still somewhere mumbling some few words; they don’t want to sweat; they jeered those who pray and shout and make noise. Such Christians are cold in the things of God.
When praying in church, there are people even if you stand close to them you cannot even hear what they are praying – that’s not fervent prayer. Jesus prayed with loud cries and groanings (Hebrews 5:7). I like to express myself in the presence of God. I don’t know how to be dignified and diplomatic in prayer and praise. I like to be noisy and wild. And I like to pray deep from within my heart and soul. And sometimes I get to some level in prayer, all I do is to groan with deep sighs.
Pray with scriptures. If you want your prayers to be answered you will have to pray scriptural prayers – that’s what I shared with you yesterday. This implies that your prayers must be full of scriptures; it has to be based on scriptures. God will not do anything outside His word. And His word is His will. Thus when you pray with scriptures, you are praying the will of God – and that guarantees speedy answers from heaven.
Pray in faith. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Mark 11:24 says, “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
Prayer without faith is mere religion void of power. Faith is what gives substance to your prayer. When you pray you must believe that you have received answers to your prayers. Pray in faith. Stand in faith when you have prayed, unwavering by seemingly contradictory circumstances. Praying scripturally involves praying the right way – it has to do with the manner of praying. And if you pray scripturally, you will definitely get answers.
