Hebrews 4:12 God's word is alive and powerful! It is sharper than any double-edged sword. His word can cut through our spirits and souls and through our joints and marrow, until it discovers the desires and thoughts of our hearts. CEV

When a pastor becomes a motivational speaker, the church is in great danger. What God’s people need is His word and not a motivational speech – any unbeliever can do that. But there is no unbeliever that can impart the word and explain it the way it ought to be explained, to bring its juice to the people. God’s word can only be imparted by a man of the Spirit.

John 6:63 says, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” It is only God’s word that can impart life. This is why the pastor must of necessity preach only the word of God with power. There is nothing like a pastor who has prepared a good word by thorough study, and have spent long hours in prayer before going to stand before the people. It will produce great results – break yokes, deliver the oppressed, heal the sick etc.

One time while Apostle Paul preached at Lystra, a man who was crippled from birth and never walked heard Paul. While he was hearing the word, Paul perceived faith in this man and said to him, stand up! The man leaped and walked. Glory to God! That is the power of the word! The word preached and taught with power will do great wonders.

One time I heard Pastor Chris said, if you consistently sit under anointed ministration of the word and power, you will not come up with certain kind of diseases like old age diseases. I couldn’t agree more. The word is medicine (Proverbs 4:22). I am talking about New Testament based word. The more you take it in, the more it releases its curative power to heal and make your body whole.

We don’t need entertainers behind the pulpits anymore. We want word power. We want anointed teachers of the word behind our pulpits. This will pull men out of the pit. As a member of a church, don’t go to church seeking entertainment – go seek for the word that will bring you to a higher level of glory in Christ.

Take time to study and read your Bible. Get audio Bible apps and listen to them daily. Get anointed teachings and listen to them. Get anointed books and read them. This will ensure that you are taking in the breath of God on a consistent basis.
