HOW TO TOUCH THE HEART OF GOD

2 Samuel 24:‬14 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the Lord ; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man

Knowing how to touch the heart of God is key to receiving from Him. David a great man of God, a man after God’s own heart knew how to touch the heart of God. One time he counted Israel which the law forbade Israel to do that. It resulted in disaster in Israel.

God sent the prophet Gad to David to give him three options: ......Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days' pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me (2 Samuel 24:13).

Look at David’s response: And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the Lord ; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man (2 Samuel 24:‬14). Falling into the hands of man? David said, no way; let me rather fall into the hands of God, for great are His mercies. David had a revelation of God: He knew God is so merciful. Even though God plagued Israel, He had mercy on David and instructed David to erect an altar make a sacrifice. And when David did, the plague stopped.

The true nature of God is love, mercy, and grace. Even in His anger is mercy and grace – this is who God is. Thus if you want to touch God’s heart, go for His mercy and grace. Always throw yourself on God’s mercy and grace. Never trust in your righteousness and efforts. Let your faith be in the grace of God.

We are instructed in scripture to come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and grace to find help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
