CLEANSED BY THE WORD

John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

The word of God cleanses the child of God. The word has cleansing power more than any detergent in the world. The believer is washed once by the blood, and forever by the word – this is the truth of the New Testament. The believer doesn’t need to be cleansed every now and then when he or she sins. The blood of Jesus, once and for all time, washed you from all sins – past, present, and future.

The cleansing you need now is the washing of your mind which is done by the cleansing of the word. If you don’t wash your mind with God’s word, your life will not be straight; you will be a confused and uneducated person. True education is in the word of God. A man who does not know the word is the most uneducated.

Our world is filled with dirt; and I do not mean physical dirt. I mean mental dirt. The philosophies and ideologies of this world are all dirt and detrimental to your walk of faith. The more I listen to people talk, even Christians inclusive, the sadder I become – their words are full of garbage. Things like 4 out 10 people die from cancer, get ready for old age diseases, the economy is hard, news of terror attacks, news of disasters and accidents are all filth; these things don’t minister faith.

You cannot live a sane life in this world if you do not constantly wash your mind with the word. Our media constantly bombard us with news of fear. Sometimes while watching some of these news items, I find myself speaking against all that I am hearing, because they are just full of unbelief and fear.

Make it your goal to subject your mind to the word of God on a daily basis. I mean reading and meditating on the word daily; listening to anointed messages daily; reading anointed books and articles like this daily devotional I send to you everyday.

And allow the word you hear to flush the wrong thoughts from your mind. The word has too much cleansing power; it will wash your mind and give you a sane mind filled with Christ.

Christ washes His church with His word. When you go to church, it is time for word bath. Ephesians 5:26 says, “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.” And what will be the result? That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).
