Daniel 9:3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: KJV

Among all the captives of Judah in Babylon, it was only Daniel who cared much about the liberation of Judah from captivity. Many of the Jews had become comfortable with the life in Babylon till they had forgotten what really mattered, the land of their nativity.

But bless God Daniel was a man who was in tune with God. He searched the scriptures till he found out from the prophecy of Jeremiah that the captivity of Judah was supposed to be for 70 years. Now 70 years has passed and they were still in Babylon. Daniel set his face to seek God by prayer and fasting till there was a release of answer from heaven.

Are you a man or woman who cares about the world around you? Some don’t even pray for their own family let alone their city and nation. God have mercy! Today, many cities are grappling with violence, murders and unrest. And yet you see believers who are the salt and light of the earth showing no concern – I am talking about showing enough care as to go down on your knees to make intercession for a change like Daniel did.

Moses cared about the deliverance of Israel from Egypt. Nehemiah cared about the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem. Do you care about the happenings around you? Or you are just comfortable with some little success you have achieved and have lost sight of the bigger picture of the kingdom of God invading the nations.

I asked myself, does the church have a plan to take the nations – I mean nations and not just individuals? Terrorists and religious extremists have plans to take nations and they are executing them day by day. As I pray for nations, my heart is burdened with the evils going on in our nations and cities – and I want to see a change – and I know in my lifetime, by the grace of God, I will see the travail of my soul.

God wants to take over our nations and He is looking up to the church, you and I to work through us. You have to make up your mind to be an intercessor. Have a prayer schedule for your family, city, nation and the world around you. Maybe you can take a day in a week to pray this kind of prayers. If every believer in the world will adopt this simple plan, we will take the nations in no time. Prayer stirs up a lot of kingdom activities in the realm of the spirit. Let God find you to use you to reach your world.
