ACT ON THE WORD
ACT ON THE WORD

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
When we put the word of God to work, we activate the inherent power in the word. The power in the word remains potential until we activate it. And as long as the power in the word is potential, we get nothing. Potential power does not bring about a change. What brings about motion and change is kinetic power or activated power.
To act on the word means to put the word of God to work; it also means to do the word. We have been called to be doers of the word and not hearers only. Those who act on the word are the ones who experience the power in the word.
For instance, when we give, we activate the law of sowing and reaping to work for us. When you honour the Lord or men of God, you activate the law of honour. When you attend church, you are acting on the word; thus every blessing that goes with church attendance becomes yours. When we forgive someone who has offended us, we activate the word of God on love and we experience true freedom and liberty.
If you refuse to act on the word, you still be the same person you have been all these years. Those who dance around the word gets nothing. Your situation only begin to change when you act on the word.
Unfortunately, there are believers who know the word of God on tithing, and yet they will not tithe. Others know the word of God about prayer, and yet they will not pray.
Sometimes your feeling will go against the word. Don’t listen to your feelings. Just act on the word and do what it says. If the word says you should pray, sometimes you may not feel the unction to pray; but you still have to pray anyway. When you do that, you go against your feelings and put the word to work.
