OUR READINESS TO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS
OUR READINESS TO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. KJV
Our opening scripture is one popular scripture and has a lot of power. Apostle Paul proclaims that the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation. What many have not asked is why Paul made this statement.
The scripture above begins with “for”. Any time a verse of scripture begins with “for” you have to ask why the “for”. “For” means reason or because. To understand this better you have to look at the preceding verse and see what was said, because that is the reason for the “for” in the verse 16 of Romans 1.
Romans 1:15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. KJV
Here Paul is telling us his readiness and eagerness to preach the gospel of Christ is because, the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. This must become our mentality as a church. The day you get to know in truth that the only hope for the world is not a political Reformation (which is not bad in itself) but the gospel of Christ, your readiness to preach the gospel will go through the roof.
It is sad to see a believer go through the whole year without sharing the gospel of Christ with anyone. It is simply because we don’t believe that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. The gospel is not a power unto salvation; it is “the” power of God unto salvation. “The” is a definite article. It means that there is no other power to save than the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Now that you know, put all your energy and resources into the preaching of the gospel. Tell someone about Jesus – make it your practice. Then also sponsor gospel campaigns like television ministry, sharing of tracts and books and tapes, blessing men of God, etc. Be always ready to preach the gospel, in season and out of season.
