YOU ARE ALREADY FORGIVEN
YOU ARE ALREADY FORGIVEN

Pastor Victor
1 John 2:12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
The subject of forgiveness of sins in the new testament is different from that of the old testament. Under the old covenant, you ask for forgiveness of sins. While under the new covenant, you take forgiveness of sins. It is just like healing. You really don’t need to ask God for healing if you are experiencing any form of sickness or symptoms. Healing has already been given by the stripes of Jesus.
What you need to do is to reach out by faith and take and receive that healing. Hence healing is not what you ask but take. Big difference! This is different from the thinking of most people in the body of Christ today. When they are sick, they go to God and cry, plead and beg for healing – this is not consistent with the life of the new creation.
This same scenario applies to forgiveness of sins. According to scripture, we already have the forgiveness of sins. If you are still in doubt, look at this scripture: In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace (Ephesians 1:7).
If you have water at home, do you have to ask for water when you are thirsty? What do you do when you are thirsty? You take the water and drink. This is awesome revelation of scriptures!
Now some people will say, Pastor Victor, the forgiveness of sins here is past sins before we came into Christ and not after that we are born again. This thinking is just ridiculous! Where were you when Jesus died on the cross? Your sins, were they past or future? You see, most people just don’t think when they read the Bible.
According to scripture, we should forgive because we have been forgiven (Ephesians 4:32). Forgiveness becomes easy when you know that you have been forgiven already. Most people don’t believe that they have been forgiven; and that’s why they find it difficult to forgive others.
Continue to believe you are forgiven of all sins – past, present and future. This is how we receive forgiveness under the new covenant. And this will light a fire in you and break the power of guilt and condemnation of the devil, and set you free to serve Lord acceptably.
