PERSISTENCE: KEY TO MINING THE GOLD OF THE WORD

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

You do not hit the gold of the word in one search. Knowing the word is a process and not a one time hit adventure. When I started studying the word at the initial stages of my Christian faith, I didn’t get the juice of the word immediately; it took some considerable amount of time.

I read things in the Bible that I did not understand them; but I kept on reading them anyway; I was persistent. Then suddenly the juice started flowing and I started mining the gold of the word.

Growth is a process; and you must understand that. You don’t expect a five-year-old to know so much about life. But with time, as that five-year-old grows, he will begin to understand the concept of life.

Learn to respect and acknowledge the law of process in your life. Knowing the word is a process and not a destination. Thus you have to continue to read and study the word. Jesus said, if you continue in my word then are you my disciples (John 8:31). And what will be the result? And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). So, there has to be that continuity in the word. This is what will birth the understanding and revelations.

Even when you start hitting and mining the gold of the word, you do not stop there. This is because there is just too much in God to discover. Knowing God and His word is a life time work and process, never to retire from it. Keep on growing in the word.
