John 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
Jesus told the Jews that Moses gave them the law to divorce their wives due to the hardness of their hearts; but in the beginning it was not so for He made them male and female. Therefore, what God has joined together let not man separate (Mark 10:5-9). This implies the law was never God’s original plan and intention for man. The law was given for a reason.
Galatians 3:23-25 says, “But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.”
Look at another scripture: For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God (Hebrews 7:18-19).
The law was only a shadow of good things to come; but the realty is Christ, who is the grace of God. God knew long before that man at his best cannot meet His holy commands and righteous requirements for divine acceptance. Thus He made a provision through Christ Jesus for the redemption of man.
Effective relationship with God is only achieved when we approach God on the basis of His grace. I love the grace of God. Grace is all of Christ and none of us. Grace is God at work in us through the operation of faith. Grace is what qualifies and makes us meet for the inheritance in Christ Jesus.
None of us in and of ourselves can meet the righteous demands for righteousness and salvation. His grace is what has brought us the salvation that we have today. Without grace we are lost. Continually receive His grace. Continually stand in His grace. Stand in the grace of God and no longer be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
