Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

As much as good business ideas, great talents and gifts are good, they are not what makes a man rich and wealthy. There are several people with businesses who are suffering. There are very gifted and skilled people who are languishing in poverty, just barely getting along.

There is more to prosperity than just having a business, job, talent or gift. There are things that you have to know in order to get wealthy in this life. If you don’t know them, it doesn’t matter what thriving business you are into, it will all come to nothing.

What brings wealth is an ability or capacity. This is what produces wealth. Wealth is produced by a mindset. If a man’s mindset is poor, no matter the kind of business that he does, he will square up with his mindset, poverty.

In the school of prosperity, you have to recognize that it is the blessing of God that makes men rich. Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Notice it is not “blessings” but singular “blessing”. It is the blessing that produces the blessings.

The blessing is an empowerment from heaven. This empowerment is what makes a man rich. When you connect to that blessing by faith, by putting God’s word to work, it results in prosperity and abundance.

When you got born again, this blessing came upon you. Ephesians 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” Notice the word “blessed” is in the past tense. It implies that it has already happened.

This blessing was what made Obed-edom rich and wealthy. After David’s party was interrupted as they tried to bring the ark to the city of David, he took the ark to the house of Obed-edom. In three months, God blessed the house of Obed-edom till the blessing was evident for all to see. Some fellows took the news to David that, the man Obed-edom has been blessed because of the ark of God. This blessing is what makes the difference in man’s life.
