Exodus 12:11 And you shall eat it thus: [as fully prepared for a journey] your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord's Passover. AMPC
The Lord's Supper is a special kind of meal; it is the covenant meal of the kingdom of God. It is no ordinary meal, hence you cannot eat it the way you eat other foods.
You have to eat it in a prescribed manner as given to us by the word of God. And our opening scripture gives us one of the ways to eat. It says, eat it as fully prepared for a journey. It implies eating with a readiness to do something or eating with an expectation.
And what was Israel's expectation at the time? It was to get out of the house of bondage which is Egypt. God was saying, eat and get ready to check out of this place.
And true to God's word, that same night, what plagues couldn't do, this simple lamb killed, and eaten with readiness, ended years of slavery and bondage.
The eating of the Passover lamb is a picture of the Lord's Supper. And its power is not in the size of the lamb nor the size of bread we eat today as we partake in the Lord's Supper. Its power is embedded in who this simple act of faith represent.
Any time that you partake of the Lord's Supper, do it with an expectation in your heart. Be expectant of a miracle or a blessing of some kind. If it is healing you want, while you eat expect your healing. If it is a breakthrough that you need, expect one. Eat the Lord's Supper as one prepared for a miracle. Praise God!
