WISDOM FROM REST (SILENCE) OR MEDITATION

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. AMPC
The story of Jesus and the woman caught in adultery shows how to activate wisdom to silence your adversaries. This poor woman was brought to Jesus by the Pharisees, claiming she was caught in the very act of adultery.
Their question to Jesus was a tricky one: according to the Law of Moses such a person should be stoned; but what do you have to say? Either way they could get Jesus: if He had said, stone her, then folks will wonder where is all of His compassion and love? If He had said, don’t stone her, they will say you are breaking Moses' law.
All this while they were pressing Jesus for answer He was quiet writing with His finger on the ground. From His quietness came this wisdom: any of you without sin should cast the first stone. Of course they were all convicted of their sins and left, from the eldest to the least.
Jesus’ wisdom came from His quietness and silence. Silence can be a very powerful weapon in the hand of the wise man. To walk in a greater level of wisdom you must learn the act of being quiet. You must observe quiet moments and thinking sessions where you engage in meditation before the Lord.
If you want certain level of wisdom you must learn to be quiet. There are folks who are too noisy and can’t be still; they talk endlessly and are surrounded by noise.
When Joshua and his men lost the battle at Ai, he came and fell before the Lord till evening. At evening God gave him the wisdom he needed to defeat Ai. There is power in quietness and silence.
Isaiah 30:15 For thus saith the Lord God , the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
Folks who are not quiet can’t walk in greater dimensions of wisdom.
