JUSTIFICATION IS GREATER THAN FORGIVENESS OF SINS

Romans 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

In scripture, there are different levels of revelation.

Forgiveness of sins dealt with your sins. While justification dealt with your nature – it gave you a new nature and new life. If you were just forgiven your sins, you would have just been a forgiven sinner – still bound to eternal destruction because of your sinful nature.

But Jesus did something better – He justified you.

The forgiveness of your sins which is as a result of Christ’s death on the cross, became the premise on which God justified you.

When Christ died, His death became the payment for sins of the entire world. And because the price for the sins of the world have been paid by Jesus, God had the righteous foundation and premise to raise His beloved Son from the dead.

And when He raised Jesus from the dead, we were raised together with Him – it was a joint resurrection.

The payment of our sins by Jesus’ death on the cross provided the premise on which our justification was executed. Forgiveness of our sins was attained by the death of Jesus; while our justification (being declared righteous) was by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
