THE MYSTERY OF THE RAM CAUGHT IN THE THICKET

Genesis 22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

While Abraham was climbing the mountain to offer Isaac, he did not know that God has already prepared a substitute. As he was about to slay his son, God spoke out from heaven and he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me (Genesis 22:12).

God thinks in terms of supply. He does not wait for the need to come before He tries to figure out what to do. God is too smart for that and nothing takes Him by surprise. Before the need ever come God has already provided the provision for it. This is what we need to believe; it will stop the worry and the anxiety.

All we need to do is to keep moving towards our assignment and all the provision that we need to accomplish it will come – they are already waiting for us. Don’t wait for the provision before you move; you will wait till eternity. God commands His provision in the place called “there.” As you move toward that place, you will see His abounding provision.

If you dig deeper, you will know why the ram was caught in the thicket by it horns. The thicket is full of thorns; if the ram was caught by any part of the body, it will hurt the lamb and tarnish its unblemished nature. God was seeing His Son, a lamb to come without any blemish or spot, who offering up will bring salvation to many around the world. Glory to God!
