FIGHTING DECEPTION!

02. MY YEAR OF FLOURISHING 2024 FIGHTING DECEPTION!
Thursday, 8th August 2024
Pastor Victor

1 Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Eve was clearly tricked by the devil but not Adam. The scripture is very clear on that. The devil by his subtlety deceived Eve into submission to him. Apostle Paul emphasized again that it was Eve that was deceived. 2 Corinthians 11:3 says, But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

The devil’s greatest weapon is deception. We are dealing with a very cunning and crafty enemy. Thus we must be very wise in dealing with him. Truth is the weapon to fight deception. And God’s word is the truth. John 17:17 says, Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

As God’s children we have to know the truth. If we don’t know the truth which is God’s word, we will fall prey to satan’s deception and lies. The devil’s lies are more powerful than his roaring and oppressions. Before satan can oppress any man, he deceives them first into believing his lies. The devil knew he did not have that power to force Adam and Eve into submission thus he deceived them.

They chose to believe what satan told them than what God has said to them. It is funny how often we focused more on what the devil and the world is telling us than what Christ is telling us. We tend to easily believe what satan tells us than what God has said in His word or told us by the voice of His Spirit. Knowing, believing, and acting on the truth is what brings true freedom and puts satan where he truly belong. Hallelujah!
