THE ANOINTING GIVES YOU INFLUENCE OVER THE NATIONS

Psalms 89:25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

John Maxwell said, “Leadership is all about influence; nothing more, nothing less.” Influence is essential if you are going to change people’s lives. You cannot change a people you do not have any influence over. Influence is simply causing a people to think and act like you and to cause them to go in a defined direction; and it can be either good or bad influence. When you cause a people to move in an intended path, you have influenced them.

If you do not have influence as a leader, you are just taking a walk. And in leadership if no one is following you, you are just taking a walk. The key to influencing people in the kingdom is the anointing of the Holy Ghost. The words “sea” and “rivers” in our opening scripture speaks of nations and people. And God said concerning David that, I will set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.” What God was saying is that, because of the anointing, you will have influence over the nations.

I was at the last “Special Ministers Conference” in Ghana, hosted by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome with Pastor Benny Hinn as the guest speaker. By 1 pm there were already long lines outside the auditorium of leaders who wanted to attend the program. Now the question is, what made this people to go through this to attend a program? What force was pulling them? It was the anointing; human ability cannot do it. And it has been like that in all of Pastor Chris’ programs. The Night of Bliss held in Accra in February 2016 was huge. Folks slept there two days before the program just to get a seat. These are not normal happenings.

Around the world, we see great leaders with large followers who follow their leaders with passion. In Ghana we have Archbishop Duncan Williams, Pastor Mensa Otabil, Dag Heward Mills, Bishop Charles Agyinasare and many more with huge followership. Around the world, great leaders like Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Joseph Prince, Andrew Wommack and a host of others have major influence over nations. These are God’s principalities and powers responsible for influencing men for Jesus.

If we are going to influence our world and impact it with the gospel of Jesus Christ, it will take the anointing of Almighty God to accomplish it. We cannot get God’s people to go in the way of the word of God without the anointing, for it is not by might nor by power; but by my Spirit says the Lord (Zechariah 4:6). Human wisdom can only accomplish very little. Let us learn to trust in the anointing of God to influence the nations with the gospel of grace. Hallelujah!
