PUT YOUR MIND TO WORK

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Your mind is like an elastic rubber band; until it is stretched it is of no use. An elastic material become useful only when it is stretched. The renewal of your mind is by far one of your greatest work after salvation. Your transformation is dependent on the renewal of your mind. And this is a continuous process; it is not a one-time affair; it is an everyday thing.

And you need some association of friends that stretches your mental capacity. If you move with chickens, you will think and behave like chickens. If you move with eagles, you will start thinking and behaving like an eagle.

Don’t lock your life; unlock your mind to unlock your destiny. If you don’t think, others will think for you, and they will eventually control the direction of your life. It is time to put your thinking cap on.

Control the thoughts that comes to you. Don’t listen or watch the wrong stuff; if you do, you will only be digging your own grave; you will only empower satan to destroy you. You have to engage in intentional thinking. Scripture gives us what to think on:

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

You are totally responsible for the thoughts that you allow to control your life. I don’t watch the wrong stuff. I make sure that what I watch is consistent with Christ. The work for your salvation is finished. On the cross when Jesus cried, it is finished, everything about your life was completed and perfected. What is left is to enter that finished work. And your mind plays a great role in this regard.

Even though Christ has redeemed you from the curse and emancipation has been declared for all men, if you don’t put your mind to work, you will live defeated and broke. In life things don’t just happen; you make them happen.
