THE BLOOD OF JESUS IS THE PAYMENT FOR OUR SINS

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Every sin and transgression has a penalty; and the penalty is death. God said to Adam, In the day that you eat of this tree you shall surely die. The wages or payment of sin is death. And when Adam sinned in the garden by committing high treason, all men sinned for we were all in Adam hence we all died.

When Adam sinned in the garden of Eden by disobeying God, the result was death. Man was doomed to death; we were getting what we really deserved. There was no two ways about it; we were on our way to hell and eternal damnation. But Jesus came and stood on our way to hell and said, stop there, I will pay the price of death for you.

Jesus came and shed His blood as the payment for our sins. His precious blood was the payment for our sins. He actually paid the price of death and He over paid it. Scripture says, For Christ also hath ONCE suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: (1 Peter 3:18 KJV)

Today in the body of Christ, the biggest problem is for men to accept the fact that when you sin God does not punish you again. God has already punished all your sins in Christ’s body. To punish the same sin twice will be travesty of justice. Folks cannot believe that when you came into Christ, all your sins: past, present and future sins have been completely forgiven.

This sin conscious people are the ones who advocate the confession of sins. They preach that if you do not confess your sins, God will not forgive you. Nonsense! That kind of life is what was practiced in the Old Testament and scripture says, God found fault with it and sought for a New Testament where forgiveness of sins will be based on the perfect man, Jesus. What about if you forget the sin and did not confess it? Then none of us will make it. Don’t put the blood of Jesus and the blood of bulls and goats on the same platform. It is the greatest insult of all time to the Father, Jesus and the Holy Ghost.

When a believer sins, what he needs to do is to acknowledge the fact that he has sinned, and then repent by changing his thinking, and then receive the forgiveness that has already been given in Christ by faith. The forgiveness of your sins is not based on your confession of it but on the account of the cross. In Christ we have forgiveness of sins according to His grace and not to confession of sins. This is the true gospel. And when you believe it, it releases its power to overcome sin.
