BUILD YOUR FINANCIAL MUSCLES

2 Corinthians 8:7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

There is such thing as financial muscles although it is not something that you can observe with your optical eyes. Just as you possess body muscles physically, so also there are financial muscles. To the degree that you develop your financial muscles, is to that degree you will enjoy sweatless financial triumph.

Most believers in Christ have not understood the concept of giving. And that’s why it shows in the way they give to God. Many are still giving the same offering they have been giving five years ago. Sometimes you will see a grown up fellow giving GHC 1.00 as offering; and this amount is about 0.25 dollars. Sad! Sad! Sad! No wonder many of these folks struggle financially in life.

In the kingdom of God, you give your way up; that is, you give to go up. That’s the way you build your financial muscles. If you are struggling with tithing, how can you give God your firstfruit offering? It is not possible. If you cannot give God GHC 10.00 certainly you cannot give GHC 20.00 as offering. Of course, every man has to give according to his ability. But as you move along, try to up your offering. As you do that, you will realise you have conquered that level of giving. This moves you into a different financial level in the realm of the spirit.

The money we use loses its value as the years roll by. The implication of giving the same offering over the years is that, you are devaluing your life unknowingly to you. To keep up with this depreciating system of our currency, up your offering from time to time as the Holy Spirit leads you. But you must apply your heart to do these things. It adds vitality to your financial life.

The Holy Spirit from our opening scripture is admonishing us to abound in the grace of giving. That’s the grace Apostle Paul was referring to in context of that scripture. You can choose to increase in this grace of giving or diminish in it; it is all up to you. And the more you increase in the grace of giving, the more the grace to receive increases in your life. You find yourself able to do bigger things than you ever imagined possible; and this is simply because there is an increase in grace.
