Romans 5:19 For just as by one man's disobedience (failing to hear, heedlessness, and carelessness) the many were constituted sinners, so by one Man's obedience the many will be constituted righteous (made acceptable to God, brought into right standing with Him). AMPC

Most people’s doctrine in the body of Christ is not founded on gold and silver. Grace is the foundation of the church. Any other foundation apart from grace is sinking sand for no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid which is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11).

Some people believe that fornication or adultery and the likes can take the unbeliever to hell. Among believers in Christ, most believe that your good works cannot earn you salvation; that the way to salvation for the unsaved is to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

What saddens me is that when it comes to the believer in Christ, they will say that if you have sin in your life, you will go to hell when you die. Or if you have an unconfessed sin in your life and you die, you will go directly to hell. All of these assertions are untrue. They have no biblical basis. And those who believe this kind of stuff have a shaky foundation.

Firstly, no sinner goes to hell because of his sins. The penalty for every sin had been paid for by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. The sinner goes to hell simply because he did not accept the sacrifice that was offered for him. If someone put a million dollar in your account, and you don’t cash it out, you could starve to death, not because the money is not in your account, but simply because you refused to cash out the money.

If the unbeliever does not go to hell because of his sins, why do you think the believer will go to hell because of some wrong that he has done? What applies to the unbeliever also applies to the believer; it is on the same premise.

All men were constituted sinners by Adam’s disobedience. On the same token, all those who accept the free gift of salvation are made righteous by the obedience of Christ. What really matters is who you are and not what you do.

And what Christ did is far superior to what Adam did. If Adam’s disobedience put people in a prison of sin, and none of their good works can get them saved, much more Christ’s obedience placed us in a greater prison of righteousness which cannot be undone by any act of sin. Hallelujah!
