READING BRINGS DISCOVERY

Nehemiah 13:1 On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;

Among the many benefits of reading, one profound benefit is “discovery”. Reading brings discovery. It is when you read that you get to make discoveries that you never knew existed – you find out things that you never knew were there.

From our opening scripture, these feeble Jews had returned from exile. And during one of their reading sessions of the law of Moses, they found out that the Ammonites and Moabites were not supposed to stand in the congregation of God. They found out this truth because they read.

Jesus also made a discovery while reading the book of Isaiah the Prophet. He found out from that book a prophecy that was given many years concerning Him before He was even born.

Luke 4:16-17
[16]And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
[17]And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

And when He made the discovery, He took advantage of that prophecy and stepped into it.

The man who does not read is in darkness. He may never find out real truths concerning his life that will bring a change. Many of the discoveries that were made around the world were stumbled upon while reading.

The turn around you are looking for may be in a book. Gather relevant books that concerns an area of your life that you are seeking for change. Then sit down and read. You will definitely make discoveries that will bring a shift in your life. Hallelujah!
