PARTICIPATE IN CHURCH ACTIVITIES

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Your participation in church activities is vital to your walk with God. We were created unto good works. There is nothing like being saved and has nothing to do. We were saved for a purpose. We were saved unto good works which God preordained for us in Christ Jesus. You cannot truly claim you are serving God rightly, if you are not involved in kingdom activities of your local church.
Neh 3:5 And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.
The noble men of Tekoa did not put their necks to the work of the Lord. For what reason, I do not know. This might have hindered the Lord's work because these were noble men who had influence among the people. These are the people who should be spearheading the project but rather decided to sit on the fence.
Leaders move with people. I believe when they sat on the fence, there were other followers who were affected by this nonchalant attitude. But I am so glad that without them, the work still went on to completion. They should bow their heads in shame.
The men of Tekoa were really strong men and leaders; without their nobles' inspiration, they were still able to do the will of God. If your church is accomplishing things without your participation, it implies that you have lost your significance.
The truth is that no one can hijack the church. If you decide not to support the ministry God has placed you in, projects will still be accomplished. But at the end of the day, you will be the loser. Because the blessing that could have been yours, you will end up losing it through your indifference.
There is so much to be done in the kingdom of God. You can serve in the ushering unit, children’s ministry, the music ministry, multimedia etc. These are various opportunities the Spirit of God has created in the church for our benefit. Rewards are for labourers and not supervisors.
Exodus 23:25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
