Joshua 2:21 And she said, According unto your words, so be it…………..
Rahab was a woman of faith. Her faith not only preserved her but her entire household. Even though she was a gentile and a harlot, she believed in the God of Israel thus she was among the only two women named in the faith hall of fame.
Hebrews 11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
Our opening scripture speaks about when the two spies who were sent by Joshua and encountered Rahab. After hiding the men from the king of Jericho, Rahab made a deal with the spies to let her and household be preserved, knowing fully well that God has given the land of Jericho to Israel. Faith people are smart people; Rahab was a smart woman.
That statement, according unto your words, so be it, is a voice of faith. She vocalized her faith in the God of Israel. It is a similar statement that Mary made when she encountered the angel Gabriel.
Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word……..
This should be your attitude toward God’s word. When you hear the word of God, your answer should be, be it unto me according to your word. You must learn to receive the word of God that comes to you. If you don’t receive the word of God that comes to you, there will be no manifestation of the word in your life.
When Mary believed what the angel told her, there was a performance of that which was told her from the Lord. Look at what Jesus told certain men who came after Him for a miracle:
Matthew 9:29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
It is always according to what you have believed. When you receive a word from the Lord, your answer should be “amen”.
Doubters and complainers go in circles. Even if the word of God to you does not make sense to you, receive it any way. As long as it is the word of God, it will definitely come to pass and produce the desired result.
