ARE YOU A SON OR DAUGHTER OF THE HOUSE?

Philippians 2:19-22 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly........
20 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. 21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.
22 But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.

A lady who was undergoing marriage counselling before getting married, told Bishop Dag Heward Mills, I am your daughter. Immediately, the Bishop replied, you are not my daughter. The lady was taken aback. Then he asked the lady, who do my children look like? Of course they look like me, he said.

Then he asked the lady in the presence of her fiancé, do you look like me? Do you do what I do in the house of God? Are you involved in the vision of the house? Are you involved in the ministry? He told her, you are a very nice member. That’s all!

Now my question to you is that, are you a very nice member or you are a son or daughter of your pastor? The fact that you attend church and you are a nice person does not mean that you are a son or daughter of the house. You may just be a nice person going to church. It is great to attend church regularly; but there is more.

Being a son or daughter means more than attending church. You have to be involved in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. You have to look exactly like your pastor; you must graduate from being a member to a “vision bearer”. This is where you make the vision of the house your vision. You become a carrier of the message of the house. You become a sponsor of the ministry and church.

God is not pleased with onlookers’ attitude. God is looking for participators; those who will help to take the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Apostle Paul had a lot of companions; but it was Timothy he said that he was his son specifically. Get involved with the vision of your local church. Be a person your pastor can count on. Become an extension of the vision of your church. Then you become a son or daughter of the house.
