Psalms 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Precious seed is the seed that is so precious to us that sometimes we find it difficult to part company with it. These are seeds we cannot do without; they are like the Isaacs of our lives. More often, we want to keep our precious seed to ourselves. Precious seeds are no ordinary seeds.
I have heard of folks dropping their car keys on the altar in church as seed with tears in their eyes. It takes a lot of discipline in the word to release precious seed. But you can get to a place having done it several times, you give precious seeds out joyfully because, you have increased in the grace of giving.
Don't withhold precious seeds when you are instructed by the Holy Ghost to give it. It could be that it is the seed that will turn your financial life around and transport you to the land of endless supply where you never know lack. They are called "turn around seeds". Precious seed is not in size but in quality. What may be precious seed to one may not be precious seed to another. Precious seed vary from person to person. In this instance, it is proportional to what a man possesses per time.
I believe that very often, God do test our obedience and love for Him through giving. Giving can reveal the intentions and motives of people. One time God tested His friend Abraham through giving. God asked for the most precious thing in Abraham's life, and that was Isaac.
Isaac meant more than silver and gold to Abraham; he was the son of promise. Abraham had waited for several years for this child to come. Now God was asking for this precious seed. And when Abraham responded by the obedience of faith, this was what happened:
Genesis 22:15-18 And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord , for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
