Deuteronomy 16:16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the Lord empty:

There is no such thing as serving God without money; it does not exist. It only exist in the minds dreamers or probably stingy folks. If you know your Bible very well, you will know without a shadow of doubt that God is served with substance also. All through scripture, you will see that folks who walked with God made one sacrifice or the other to God.

For instance, Abel was the first man to give God an offering as recorded in scripture. And that was the introduction of the first fruit offering; and God called it a more excellent sacrifice.

Abraham served God with substance. David said, I will not offer to God that which will not cost me. David did not only give God an offering, rather he gave God a big sacrifice. Solomon offered so many burnt offerings to God that the altar couldn’t handle the enormous sacrifices. And at Gibeon when he offered a thousand burnt offering, God appeared to him and gave him a blank cheque and he became the wisest man that ever lived before Jesus.

Today in the church, there are some folks who don’t see the importance of money in serving God. Of course God desires that we serve Him with our heart and mind; but you cannot claim you are serving God with your heart when your substance is not involved. Scripture says, where your treasure is, that’s where your heart will be. Money represents your life; it represents your talents, time, labor that you have exchanged for money through fruitful and legalised work. When you give it, you are giving a part of you.

Proverbs 3:9‭-‬10 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

When you give to God, you are honouring Him. And when you honour Him He causes your bank account to overflow with plenty. There are believers who are still debating about tithing and other giving we do in church. These are not smart folks. God said, we should not come to Him empty handed whether poor or rich. There is always something to give to God.

When you go to church, don’t find a nice and gentleman way to escape giving offerings. This is what most ushers, instrumentalist and choir members do. The moment is offering time, they hurriedly run to the instruments or the microphone; this they do in order to escape giving offerings. Little do they know that they are escaping their blessings too.

I have come to know by revelation from God’s word that, the sure way to prosper is to take my giving seriously and intentional. Always find a reason to give to God. Praise God!
