THE JUSTICE OF GOD IN REDEMPTION

Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed. AMP

Salvation is free but in essence it is not free. It cost God everything to save lost man and bring redemption to all creation. Lock this truth in your mind and be ever grateful to God for paying such a heavy price for your eternal salvation.

If you listen to what some folks are preaching, it is as if God’s Justice was not involved in the redemption story. God did not just save us based on His mercy and Grace. If it is just based on Grace and mercy, then there would no need for the cross. Don’t be surprised by this statement; just keep on reading.

One side of God is His Justice nature. God is not just merciful and gracious; but He is also a just God – this is the whole counsel of God. And God’s Justice requires that every sin, disobedience and lawless deed, their size notwithstanding, be punished by death. Thus when Adam sinned in the garden by way of transgression, God’s Justice required that Adam be punished by death as the penalty.

If God had saved man without the cross, then God would have been unjust since sin must be punished by death. And on the cross, God’s Justice was fully satisfied by the death of Jesus. God punished all our sins legally in the body of Jesus. After this, God was righteous and just to justify sinful men on legal grounds; and this He did because of His great love, mercy and Grace toward man. This implies that the cross both represent the Justice and Grace of God; this is very vital!

Today, any man who refuses to accept this free gift offer through Jesus Christ, will be punished greatly in hell; there is no way of escape. To reject and refuse the sacrifice of Jesus is the greatest sin of all time; this is why the Holy Ghost is here to convict the world of sin (not believing in Jesus).

For the believer in Christ, rejoice in the Lord because the Justice of God is on your side. Your salvation is not a fluke. It is legal brother! There is a legal document backing your salvation; that is why you should not accept the accusations and condemnation of the enemy. I feel like shouting! Praise God forever more!
