Pastor Victor
Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Sometimes you will see a brother or even an associate pastor of a church speaking so well about his senior Pastor publicly. But at the same time speaks evil of him behind his back. You begin to wonder what is wrong? The truth is that, all that praise is fake because, it did not come from his heart. What came from his heart are the bad things they say behind the scenes.
Anything that is done that is not from the heart is hypocrisy; you are pretending to be something that you are not – you are fake. You cannot deceive God. God looks on a man’s heart. It is what is in your heart that matters to God and not what you are saying or even doing. If what you are doing is not from your heart, it is useless as far as God is concerned.
God weighs and tries our hearts. From your innermost being are the outgoings of life. Life is lived from inside-out. Don’t come to God trying to impress Him with your wonderful vocabulary; He is not impressed by that. It is what is going in your heart that no man sees that matters to Him.
Even for your preaching to impact your audience, you must speak from your heart. Personally, I don’t know how to do things half-heartedly. If I am going to do something, then, I am going all out. Those who have ever prayed with me can testify to this: when I pray, I pray with everything in me. When I preach, I preach with everything in me. That’s the way I live my life. This is the only way you are going to impact lives and make a difference.
*_Colossians 3:23 says, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”_* True worship is from your heart because, true worshippers must worship the Father in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). Whatever you do, do it from your heart. When you serve in the house of God, do it from your heart as unto the Lord and not unto men.
