Proverbs 6:2 If you have been snared with the words of your lips, If you have been trapped by the speech of your mouth, AMP
Whether you believe it or not, the words that you speak keeps you in prison – for either good or bad. When scripture says, you are ensnared by your words, it means you are trapped or hemmed in by your words. You cannot be talking negative and expect your life to be fine. One wrong confession can destroy hours of prayer and put you in the wrong trajectory.
Your words put you in a place of no escape. Now this prison that your words put you can either be good or bad. If you speak words that are consistent with scriptures, you will be imprisoned in the goodness of God, enjoying His abundant blessings. On the other hand, if you speak negative words that are inconsistent with redemptive provisions in Christ Jesus, you will be imprisoned for the bad, receiving the strokes of hell.
Scripture says, the fool’s mouth calls for the strokes. A fool is one who lacks understanding of God’s word. You need to know the word of God in truth for yourself. And when you are loaded with the word, you can speak from the abundance of your heart revelations that will change your life.
Put a bridle on your tongue; don’t talk sickness; don’t talk poverty. Don’t say things like, everyone is struggling these days; everyone gets sick – you know that these things aren’t true. Not everyone is sick; not everyone is struggling – that’s true. There are even unbelievers who haven’t visited the hospital in many years.
Talk the word only. When you wake up in the morning, say, greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world – I have found out by practice, that this confession is a dominion confession that subdues the forces of this world. The more you say it, the more the power to dominate rises in you – you see yourself beyond this world and its system. Declare, I am rich; I am blessed; for my sake nations will change their policies; I cannot be sick; I cannot be poor. These faith-filled confessions will trap you in the prison of success and prosperity.
