THE BELIEVER'S ANOINTING

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. KJV

Under the old testament, it was only three offices that were qualified to receive the anointing – the priest, prophet and the king. But under the New Testament, all believers can be anointed, even though not all are called to stand in ministerial offices. Just as there is a common authority for all believers, there is an anointing common to all believers. This is vital!

The church must see ordinary believers raising the dead, healing the sick, casting out devils, taking cities and nations, changing lives and doing miracles. If we don’t do this, we are robbing the body of Christ a great deal of opportunity to be relevant here on earth. The laity must be empowered to function effectively – they make a great pool of the body of Christ. Thus, if they are empowered, it will be a great blessing to the church of Christ.

Believers must be empowered and taught how to walk in the anointing. When I was just a believer in Christ, I walked in the anointing – I wasn’t called into full time ministry yet; we preached the gospel, we casted out devils, held crusades, unstopped deaf ears and did mighty wonders for Jesus.

You don’t have to be a full time or pulpit minister to be used of God. Just being a believer is enough qualification to be used of God, only if you will yield to the Spirit – that is the key to being used of God.

Philip was just a deacon and was mightily used of God. This was the man that could have his body dematerialized and materialized at the same time – he was divinely transported by the Spirit from place to place. One time he brought the whole city of Samaria to a standstill through preaching of the kingdom of God and performing miracles.

You must become an agent of change. God wants each one of us to enroll in Christ’s philanthropic organization in doing good and healing all that are oppressed by the devil. God is looking for yielded men. This is what it takes to walk in the anointing. Men who will yield to prayers and fasting, brokenness, the word, leading of the Spirit, to mentorship and fathers etc.
