When I was a young Christian, most of the teachings we were exposed to were about demons and their activities. We were made conscious of the devil more than Christ. Every now and then you get to church it is about some devil on some street or somewhere in the sea. We left church so conscious of the devil.

Nearly Every prayer point was concerning the devil and his works. I even realised when you raised a prayer point that is not about the devil, people didn’t pray fervently but the moment you raised a prayer point about the devil and witches, the fervency of the prayers went through the roof. I remember in one particular meeting, the fellow leading the prayer said, I can see some demons around this place. Why didn’t these folks see Christ but always devils?

We were exposed to books of former occult members who have come to Christ, telling us what they used to do in the demonic world. I remember reading one book, He came to set the captives free. This book and its companions are very dangerous and unhealthy to the Christian in Christ. I believe these things inspires fear more than faith. Of course, there is place for praying against satanic activities but when every prayer point is about the devil and his cohorts, then there is a problem.

Be careful of the things that you are listening to-You don’t need to listen to things about the devil before you can defeat him. When you know your place in Christ, satan becomes no match for you. Remember you don’t need to handle a lot of counterfeits in order to know the genuine. When you have so handled the genuine, the moment you touch the counterfeit of any kind, you will recognize it.

You attract what you are conscious of-If you are always conscious of the devil, you will attract him; yea, I am serious. If you are conscious of sin, you will sin. On the other hand, if you are conscious of Christ, you will live the victorious life that He brought to you, never being defeated.

From today, fill your mind with Christ. Listen to messages that speaks of Christ and His finished work, like the ones I send you every morning in our devotional. It will change your life forever. For instance, I do the right things the Bible speaks of not because I am afraid of God’s punishment, but because I am more conscious of Christ. That’s the key for victorious living.
