LET YOUR MOUTH BE FILLED WITH REDEMPTION TRUTHS

Song of Solomon 4:3 Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely...

Our opening scripture is a beautiful description given concerning the  “love” of the “beloved”  in the Songs of Solomon. The “love”  is a picture of the church while the  “beloved”  is a picture of Christ who is the head of the church. This description concerning Christ’s  “love”  is marvelous.

He said, thy lips are like a  “thread of scarlet”   and thy speech is comely. Do you remember the scarlet cord that Joshua told Rahab to hang on her window in Jericho; and by that scarlet thread, Rahab and her house were preserved when Jericho was destroyed and the city burnt?

That scarlet cord that saved Rahab and her house is a picture of the blood of Jesus and redemption. Now what Jesus is saying is that, your lips are like the  “thread of scarlet” . This implies that the message that should be in your mouth should be redemption truths; it should be the message concerning the finished work of Christ; it should be the message of the cross and the blood of Jesus.

This message is what should dominate our communication. Your confessions in life must be full of redemption truths. If you say, I am broke, what is the redemption truth in that statement? If you confess     “ I am sick”  or “this sickness will kill me”, what is the redemption truth in that?

Dear friend, the Lord Jesus wants your lips to be filled with the cross. Preach the cross only. Your words must be seasoned with grace. Speak life to your body, mind, health, finances, marriages etc. You must speak the cross in your relationships. Be kind with your words. Your words must be comely. Your words should be full of Jesus. Your words should exhort, edify, encourage and bring comfort to men.
