Psalms 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
There is a connection between your mouth and your health. If you desire to walk in perpetual health then you have to start checking the confessions of your mouth. A lot of people’s sickness is as a result of what they have been saying.
Unknowingly to many, they are the ones shooting themselves in the foot. Here in our opening scripture, we see the connection between our mouth and the renewal of our youth. The Lord satisfies your mouth with good things (revelation of His word) which enhances the renewal of your youth. Your youth being renewed means your body remaining young.
God wants you to enjoy youthfulness and vigour. He does not want you to look like an 80 year old when you are just 40. Caleb a man of faith experienced this youthful renewal. When he was 85 he told Moses that he is just like when he was 40, in strength and going to war. Wow! Something happened to Caleb’s body at 40 – his body stopped aging – his body was vitalized by the Spirit.
How did this happen? Scripture tells us that he was among the twelve spies who went to search out the promised land. 10 of them spoke death and unbelief but Caleb and Joshua spoke faith and said, we are well able to go and take the land – the giants are bread for us. By this confession, his body stopped aging.
Sometime ago, I met a childhood friend; while we were talking he said, “Victor, you have not really changed; most of our mates have already turned into old folks but you are looking so young.“ This fellow did not know what I believe. I believe in divine health and renewal of my youth – I have seen it in the scriptures and I have painted the picture to my mind so strong that you cannot convince me otherwise. My confessions have always been that of what the word says.
I also believe that the more you hear the Word and take the Lord’s supper, you shouldn’t be sick. This has been my life. I don’t talk sickness; I don’t talk rubbish. I have always strived to speak in consent with the word. I tell people that when I am 80, I will be better than this – I will still be preaching, jumping and shouting – I don’t see myself holding a walking stick. At age 120, Moses could still climb mountains. How old are you? And you are already looking forward to old age of sickness and diseases?
If you will keep your mouth, you will enjoy many good days on earth, full of health and pleasures. 1 Peter 3:10 says, “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.”
