Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

We are saved by grace through faith but we were also saved unto good works. This means that God saved you to produce great works for the kingdom of God of course we are not saved by good works – but for sure, we are saved unto good works. Christians must of necessity do the right things. Your actions must be consistent with the life that you have received in Christ Jesus.

2 Samuel 5:19 And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand. KJV

One of the many benefits of prayer is that, it brings clarity into your life as a believer in Christ Jesus. One time Jesus needed to choose 12 men from His disciples as Apostles – He needed clarity and scripture tells us that He continued the whole night in prayer to God (Luke 6:12) and by the time it was day, He chose His apostles – and even with all the praying, there was still a Judas among them. What would have happened if He hadn’t prayed?

1 Corinthians 9:16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! KJV

I read a book by Bishop Dag Heward Mills, Pastoral Ministry, where he narrated how several years ago, they went to a prayer meeting in a forest, spent several hours praying, and all they were asking God for was “burdens”. I believe today, that prayer is speaking and today, how many people go to a prayer meeting and ask God for burdens?

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

Our battle is not carnal – that means our warfare is not physical but spiritual. For most people, life is all that you can see, taste or feel and smell. Life is more than that. There is a whole world alive and well beyond the sense realm. It is the parent force that created this physical world.

Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

A soldier who is at war and firing bullets anyhow without any target may end up being killed or wasting his bullets. You must have a target before opening fire. This scenario is applicable in spiritual matters concerning the kingdom of God.
