CAST OUT DEVILS

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

The first sign that Jesus gave to those who will believe in His name is to cast out devils. A lot of pastors today tries to escape the issue of casting out devils. Many are hiding under these so called motivational speaking and not doing what Jesus told us to do. There is really nothing wrong with teaching people how to do well in their career and business. But if we hide under that guise and do not do what Jesus told us to do, then there is a problem.

I believe the reason why Jesus made casting out devils the first sign of the believer is to let us know that this is important; and no one will pretend that he did not see it in the book. It is right there in the book: In my name shall they cast out devils.

Another reason why Jesus made casting out of devils a priority is that most people’s problems in the world are caused by devils. Don’t take that for granted. Sometimes you see someone sick, and the sickness has defied all medical remedy; it tells you that sickness is beyond germs and infections; sickness is devilish. There are demons behind most sicknesses that people suffer.

One time while Jesus was casting out a devil, when the demon left the fellow was able to talk. It tells you that it was that demon responsible for the person being mute. As new creation in Christ Jesus, you are not supposed to be ignorant of the workings of satan. Be vigilant!

Every believer has been given the authority to cast out devils. This is not reserved for some super men of God. This is the right of every believer in Christ. If you are born again you can cast out devils.

I started casting out devils long before I became a Pastor. I opened deaf hears and caused the mute to speak when I wasn’t a Pastor. You can do the same. You can raise the dead, cast out devils and lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.
