GOD SUPPLIES YOUR NEED BY YOUR GIVING

Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. ESV

God has His own delivery systems that He operates with to deliver things to His kids. For instance, preaching is God’s delivery system to bring salvation, healing and prosperity to the church. The Lord’s supper is also God’s delivery system to minister divine health to His people.

Our opening scripture is one known and quoted by many believers in Christ around the world. What many don’t do is to read that scripture in its context. If you check the context of that scripture, Apostle Paul was talking about how the Philippian church engaged in the law of giving and receiving gave. And in response he prayed that God will supply every need of theirs.

Thus you cannot take that scripture in isolation and confess it without practicing what the preceding verses had said concerning sowing and reaping. The opening scripture begins with “and” which is a conjunction thus linking that verse to the previous verses which spoke about giving. God supplies our need according to His riches; but the channel or delivery system He uses is our “giving”.

If you don’t give your needs will not be met. I have heard some false and pseudo grace preachers said that since we are under grace, there is no need to tithe and sow seeds because Christ’s finished work has made all things available. That’s foolishness gone to sea. Christ made all things available by His death; but your faith which is expressed through giving is needed to tap into His supplies.

The subject of giving is both before the law, under the law and under the New Testament. Hence it is still a valid teaching in this New Testament times. If you want your needs to be met cheaply, take your giving life seriously. That means you have to be consistent with your firstfruit, tithing, offerings, seed faith, giving to your Pastor etc.

You can’t do these things and be broke. It is just not possible. God is able to make all grace abound to the cheerful and prompt to do giver, whose heart is in his giving. When you have a need, so a seed and that need will be met. Get to understand the concept of giving and practice the grace of giving and all your needs will be met.
