Genesis 15:9-11 And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not. 11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
In Genesis 15, God instructed Abraham to prepare a sacrifice with certain animals. And upon that sacrifice God made a covenant with him. But something interesting happened while the sacrifice was on the altar. We were told in our opening scripture that Abraham drove away the fowls of the air which had come to temper with the sacrifice.
The sacrifice here is a picture of Jesus' death and redemptive work for us. The fowl here is a picture of the devil. What are the fowls here to do? They came in order to steal away the sacrifice. We were told in Mathew 13 about the parable of the seed that, the seed sown by the wayside were eaten by the birds of the air. And that speaks of satan stealing the word from the heart of men. Again, satan's target is to make void the sacrifice of Jesus. Since there is nothing he can do about the sacrifice of Jesus, his goal is to make it void in the lives men around the world.
And in his bid to do that he has raised anti grace preachers around the world. All over the world you hear teachings that are anti grace and faith. Any teaching that diminishes the finished work of Christ is an attempt by the devil to steal the blessings of redemption from God’s people. When you hear folks say, healing is not for everyone; or God does not heal all the time, you know the birds of the air are around to steal the sacrifice.
Jesus' death took care of all sickness; He was made sick with our sickness; and by His stripes we were healed (1 Pet 2:24). Hence healing is not something we even ask God for; you just take it because it has been given to you 2000 years ago. God is passionate about your health; and He proved it by plowing the back of His beloved Son in order for you to be well 365 days a year.
There are those who say, it is only our past sins that was forgiven; but for our present sins we have to confess our sins before God will forgive us. Our forgiveness of sins is not based on our confession of sins but on the finished work of Christ. Forgiveness is not something we ask because we already have it.
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
In whom we have: that’s present tense. Now enjoy the forgiveness that Jesus brought to you by believing your sins have been forgiven. When Christ died, all your sins were futuristic. Christ’s death took care of all your sins: past, present and future. Faith in this revelation will give you peace in your conscience and empower you to serve God like never before.
Your entire life of sin has been completely forgiven and wiped out forever. Now as a new creation in Christ Jesus, you have been justified from all things and there is no more condemnation for you. Let us drive these birds that are hawking all over the world to rob us of the power of the cross. The cross has power. Preach it! Protect it!
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
