MAKE CHURCH ATTENDANCE YOUR PRIORITY

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Attending church regularly will make a champion out of you. It is the wisdom of God to put you over in life. Church attendance is not man’s idea; it is something that God Himself designed for our benefit. And from our opening scripture, He commands us not to forsake church meetings. Something interesting in that theme scripture: as the manner of some is. It implies that there are folks who habitually skip church services. God commands us not to follow their ungodly example.

In this day where technology can bring live church services into your home, some believers have form the habit of not going to church; they claim they are worshipping God with the Pastor on television. That’s nonsense! That minister of God is not your Pastor; he does not know you.

The Bible talks about submitting to those who are over us in the Lord and admonish us; that minister on television is not over you in the Lord. Hence you are in error to claim that that minister on television is your Pastor. He cannot marry you nor baptize you because he has no authority over you. He cannot truly nurture you in the things of God as your Pastor will. It is your Pastor who has authority over you; this is God’s system of operation.

The local church is God’s wisdom; and the Holy Spirit acknowledges that. That’s why Jesus wrote seven different letters to seven different churches, thereby acknowledging the uniqueness of each local assembly.

Revelation 1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

Thus everyone must belong to a local church where you serve God faithfully. To say you belong to the universal church and hence you don’t have to be in a local church, is total error and unwise. To not belong to a local church is like a sheep without a shepherd; you are open prey to the enemy. You can be used for light soup. Make no mistake about it. The local church is our city of refuge; and if you are not in the city of refuge, the slayer can kill you.

The believer who don’t attend church regularly cannot grow more than the one who does. There is a corporate anointing that is present to minister to us when we come together as a church. This special anointing is not present in your house. Hence there are things that God can only do for you when you are present in church.

Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
